YOUR VISIT AT A GLANCE
Cannes attracts visitors for international events, business meetings and Riviera holidays. Cannes-Mandelieu offers a business aviation arrival near the city, while Nice provides an alternative for aircraft or itineraries that do not suit Cannes. The best choice depends on the aircraft as well as the event address.
BEYOND THE ARRIVAL
Beyond the Croisette
Cannes is often seen through the festival, but its geography offers a fuller visit. The Croisette faces the bay, the old port gives the waterfront a working rhythm, and Le Suquet rises above it with narrower streets and a different scale. These areas can form a compact first introduction without a long road itinerary.
The Lérins Islands add a separate, quieter side of the bay. Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat are not city neighbourhoods reached by car: they require a boat and time ashore. For a congress visit, keep that excursion for a genuinely free part of the schedule, rather than inserting it between meetings at the Palais.
Le SuquetPlaces worth exploring

La Croisette
The Croisette connects the seafront, beaches and the Palais des Festivals area. Its pace changes sharply during major events, so allow for crowds and altered road access.

Saint-Honorat
The island offers a quieter side of Cannes, with a monastic setting and coastal paths. A boat journey makes it a planned outing rather than a brief city stop.

Cannes-Mandelieu Airport
Cannes-Mandelieu is focused on business and general aviation, west of Cannes. It offers a direct approach to a Cannes stay without driving from Nice, provided the proposed aircraft and operating conditions suit the airport.
Indicative road journeys. The terminal, final address and traffic affect the time. Dotted ends link the road to the marked place; this overview is not a navigation map.
Your onward journey
Cannes-Mandelieu is one option for an appropriate aircraft; Nice is an alternative when it fits the flight better. The destination address and the operating carrier’s assessment decide the useful choice. For a yacht, use the confirmed port and berth meeting instructions, not simply “Cannes waterfront”.
Plan around your final address
The runway is appreciably shorter than Nice’s. Aircraft performance, load and local operating requirements need checking; a larger aircraft may make Nice the more suitable choice.

When to travel
The film festival and major trade events change demand sharply. Confirm dates and ground arrangements early; summer coastal traffic also needs a buffer.
Congress & festival visits
The event timetable is the starting point. Keep transfers separate from the time shown on an invitation, and share any accreditation or meeting constraints before choosing the arrival hour.
Summer
Combine a waterfront walk with the old town or an island day. Check boat returns and keep enough room before a flight, especially if the visit extends beyond the mainland.
Quieter months
Le Suquet and the waterfront can carry a short visit outside peak beach periods. Confirm that the particular exhibition, boat trip or event you want is operating on your dates.
CONNECT YOUR JOURNEY
Plan the journey in both directions
Indicative jet flight between the reference airports. Transfers are additional; see the route for the airport pair and arrival options.
AIRCRAFT TO CONSIDER
Choose the space you need
Compare passenger seats, luggage and cabin space. The operator confirms the aircraft’s suitability for the airports and the particular flight.
Before your visit
Can I reach the Lérins Islands directly by car?⌄
No. Plan a boat crossing and its return separately from the airport transfer. Choose the island before arranging the day because Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat offer different visits.
Which airport should I choose?⌄
Cannes-Mandelieu is focused on business and general aviation, west of Cannes. It offers a direct approach to a Cannes stay without driving from Nice, provided the proposed aircraft and operating conditions suit the airport.
How long is the airport transfer?⌄
The indicative road journey from the airport shown on this map to the city centre is 15-30 minutes. The exact terminal, address and traffic affect the journey. Select a point on the map to compare the available local destinations.
What should I send with a charter request?⌄
Send your dates, departure point, passenger count and final address. Mention large bags or sports equipment and any fixed appointment. We can then compare the flight and onward journey together.
