Private jet charter pricing
Private jet charter pricing explained, from aircraft selection to the complete itinerary.

Private jet charter is priced for the whole aircraft and a specific itinerary. The aircraft, its location, your travel dates and the airports all affect the total. A rate per flying hour alone does not tell you what your trip will cost.
Three things to know before comparing prices
The whole aircraft
The charter price covers the aircraft for your party, rather than individual airline tickets.
The complete itinerary
A one-way flight, a same-day return and a week away can produce very different quotes.
The actual offer
Compare the available aircraft and included services for the same dates and airports.
What are you paying for?
A charter proposal brings together the aircraft and crew, the flying required to carry out your itinerary, and the airport services needed for that trip. The scope of the offer matters as much as the headline figure.
Start with the total for your journey. Then check the aircraft, schedule and services it covers. This is more useful than comparing an advertised hourly figure with another company’s price for an entire flight.
What changes private jet charter pricing?
Aircraft and cabin
Size, capability and the particular aircraft available affect the quote. Choose around your group, luggage and journey length. A larger cabin can be worth the difference on a long flight; on a shorter trip, a smaller aircraft may meet your needs.
Where the aircraft starts
An aircraft may need to fly to your departure airport before collecting you. That positioning flight can influence the price even though you are not on board. Two offers for the same model can therefore differ.
Dates and availability
Busy holidays and major events can reduce the choice of aircraft. If your schedule is flexible, ask about nearby departure times or dates instead of assuming the first option is the only one.
Airports and schedule
Airport charges and the practical arrangements for the crew and aircraft vary. For a return journey, the time between flights affects whether the aircraft waits or needs a different programme.
Why an hourly rate is not a trip price
Multiplying an hourly rate by the time you expect to spend in the air can miss positioning, airport charges and other trip costs. Operators may also apply minimum charges. An advertised rate is a starting point for understanding aircraft categories, not a confirmed total.
Nor is a price per kilometre a reliable universal comparison: a short flight still requires departure and arrival services. Ask for a complete proposal for your itinerary rather than trying to assemble a price from separate online figures.
Choose the aircraft around the journey
Begin with the number of passengers, the luggage you want to bring and how you would like to use the cabin. Then compare suitable models. Category names are a guide: the actual seating, baggage space and range matter more than the label.
One way, return or several stops?
One way
You book the journey you need. The operator’s aircraft positioning can still affect the quote, so a one-way price is not necessarily half a return fare.
A return journey
Provide both flight dates at the start. A quick return and a longer stay create different requirements for the aircraft and crew. Compare the complete itinerary.
Several destinations
Send all stops together, including the time you need on the ground. That gives a clearer basis for comparing the trip than requesting each leg separately.
Put it into practice: London to Geneva
Before choosing an aircraft, decide which part of London you are travelling from and where you need to go after arriving in Geneva. A convenient airport and a suitable cabin can matter more than a small difference in the quoted flight price.
For a business visit, share the meeting schedule and return time. For a ski trip, include the number of bags and any skis. These details help narrow the aircraft choice before comparing offers.

Route, aircraft and airports ↗How to compare two proposals
- Same journey: departure and arrival airports, dates, local times and all requested stops.
- Suitable aircraft: passenger seating, luggage space, cabin facilities and photographs of the proposed aircraft.
- Clear total: currency, services included and anything that could be charged separately.
- Booking conditions: offer validity, payment schedule and what happens if you change or cancel the trip.
A lower total is meaningful only when both offers meet the needs of your journey. Ask about a difference you do not understand before choosing.
Where flexibility can help
Tell us if you can use another nearby airport, move the departure time or consider a different aircraft category. These options may open up alternatives. The useful saving is one that still leaves you with a convenient journey.
An empty leg is a flight an aircraft needs to make without its original passengers. It may be offered at a reduced price when your plans fit, but its route and timing depend on the underlying schedule. It is worth considering for flexible travel, rather than treating it as a guaranteed replacement for a standard charter.
Pricing questions
Is the price per person?
A standard private charter is quoted for the whole aircraft. Dividing the total among your group can help you plan a budget, but it does not turn the charter into separately bookable seats.
Is booking early always cheaper?
No fixed saving is guaranteed. Planning ahead gives more time to compare options; the available aircraft and their schedules still determine the actual proposals.
Can the price change if my plans change?
A different date, airport, additional stop or revised schedule may require a new quote. Ask for the updated total before confirming a change.
Who do I pay?
Your charter agreement and payment for the flight are directly with the operating carrier. Lustrina Jet remains involved in coordinating your journey, from booking through to landing.
What should I send for a quote?
Send your preferred route, travel dates and passenger count. If you have flexibility, a return flight or specific luggage needs, include those too.
