YOUR VISIT, AT A GLANCE
Geneva brings together international diplomacy, private banking and watchmaking on the shores of Lake Geneva. Fly into Geneva Airport for city meetings and lakeside stays, or use it as a starting point for the Swiss and French Alps. The best arrival plan takes account of your final address, flight schedule and luggage.
FROM TOUCHDOWN TO YOUR DESTINATION
Arriving in Geneva
Your arrival airport and the onward drive.
Select a destination to highlight the road route.
GVA / LSGG
Geneva Airport
The main arrival option for Geneva itself. Terminal 3 serves business aviation, with a separate meeting point from the airline terminal.
Road time is a planning estimate, excluding arrival formalities. Your terminal, final address and traffic determine the actual journey.
Before your flight ⌄
Airport access and handling arrangements need confirmation alongside the aircraft. Geneva requires prior permission for movements outside the scheduled-slot coordination system. We check the arrangements relevant to your flight.
Driver meeting point: Chemin des Papillons 20, subject to the handling instructions in your flight confirmation.
INTO THE CITY
Meet your driver at the right terminal
A car with a driver is a straightforward option for the city. Share your exact address and suitcase count when arranging the transfer. For a return flight, work backwards from the agreed arrival time at the handling terminal.
ONWARD TO THE ALPS
Plan the flight and transfer together
For a chalet or ski resort, compare the complete journey by road or helicopter. Helicopter services operate from Geneva, but each transfer depends on the landing site, weather and load. An alternative arrival airport may suit a particular resort better.

Beyond the lakefront
Geneva's international role shapes everyday life. Meetings with international organisations and financial firms bring visitors throughout the year. The UN district lies north of the centre, while the lakefront and Old Town are natural starting points for a first visit.
Watchmaking is part of the city's identity, from workshops and boutiques to the collections of the Patek Philippe Museum. Across the city, scientific research at CERN adds another reason to visit. Between appointments, the compact centre makes room for a walk along the quays or an afternoon in a museum.
Palais des Nations · International GenevaMAKE TIME FOR
Four ways to discover Geneva

The lake & Jet d’Eau
Walk the quays, cross the harbour and continue towards the English Garden. The lakefront is an easy first stop when you have a few hours between meetings.

The Old Town
Climb the lanes around St Peter’s Cathedral and explore the historic centre on foot. Allow time for the slopes and cobbled streets.

Watchmaking
The Patek Philippe Museum introduces the craft through watches, enamels and intricate mechanisms. Check opening times before fitting a visit around your flight.

CERN Science Gateway
A visit focused on physics and discovery offers a different view of Geneva. Check the visitor programme and booking requirements directly with CERN.
TIMING YOUR TRIP
A different rhythm each season
Spring & autumn
City walks, museums and business visits. Check exhibition dates before fixing your itinerary, particularly for events at Palexpo such as Watches and Wonders.
Summer
Lakefront walks, swimming spots and time on the water. Geneva can be the start of a longer journey around the lake and into nearby wine-growing areas.
Winter
Combine the city with an Alpine stay. Plan room for skis and winter luggage, and allow flexibility for weather on the onward journey.

Questions about Geneva
Which airport should I use for a private flight to Geneva?⌄
Geneva Airport (GVA / LSGG) is the first option to assess for a stay in the city. Business aviation uses Terminal 3. If your destination is an Alpine resort, compare the complete onward journey before choosing an airport.
How long is the drive from the airport to central Geneva?⌄
Allow roughly 20 to 30 minutes as an initial planning estimate. The exact journey depends on the handling terminal, your address and traffic. Allow more time during busy periods; this estimate excludes arrival formalities.
Where should my driver meet me?⌄
At the handling terminal confirmed for your flight. The business aviation terminal is at Chemin des Papillons 20, separate from the main airline terminal. Send the flight confirmation to your driver so the meeting point is agreed.
Can I arrange a helicopter transfer to the Alps?⌄
Yes, helicopter transfers can be assessed from Geneva for suitable Alpine destinations. The landing site, weather, passenger and baggage load must all be checked. A road alternative is worth planning for a weather-sensitive connection.
Can I take skis or a snowboard?⌄
Yes, when their dimensions and weight fit the aircraft offered. Send the number and length of equipment bags together with your suitcase count. Check the helicopter or car capacity too if you are continuing to a resort.
Can I arrive late at night?⌄
A late arrival must be checked against the permitted operating window for your flight. Do not assume that the airline timetable also applies to every private flight. We check the proposed arrival and return times when assessing options.
When should I book for a major event or a ski holiday?⌄
Start when your dates are settled. Busy event dates and winter holiday periods leave fewer options for aircraft and airport arrangements. A short-notice request can still be assessed, but availability is confirmed for the specific itinerary.
