YOUR VISIT AT A GLANCE
Larnaca offers a city-and-sea stay on the south-east coast of Cyprus. The airport is close to town and also serves journeys towards Nicosia and the eastern resorts. Those onward destinations should be named in the request because their road journeys differ substantially from a central Larnaca transfer.
BEYOND THE ARRIVAL
A waterfront city with a quieter inland side
Larnaca offers a straightforward first introduction to Cyprus. Finikoudes provides a clear waterfront axis, while the streets around Saint Lazarus bring the scale back to a smaller historic quarter. A short visit can combine the two without turning the day into a tour of the whole island.
The salt-lake landscape near the airport adds a natural contrast to the seafront. Its appearance changes with the season and water levels, so photographs of winter birds do not describe every visit. Larnaca can also be the beginning of a wider island journey, but a city stay and an onward coastal transfer need different planning.
FinikoudesPlaces worth exploring

Saint Lazarus
The church is one of the main cultural landmarks in the older part of Larnaca. The surrounding streets offer a useful contrast to the seafront.

Salt Lake
The salt lake is a seasonal landscape near the airport. Winter birdlife and dry-season views are different experiences; wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.

Larnaca International Airport
Larnaca is a major gateway to Cyprus, close to Larnaca itself and useful for the southeastern coast. Nicosia, Limassol and the resort areas each require a different onward drive. Confirm private-flight meeting instructions before arranging the car.
Indicative road journeys. The terminal, final address and traffic affect the time. Dotted ends link the road to the marked place; this overview is not a navigation map.
Your onward journey
A central Larnaca address is different from an onward journey towards Ayia Napa or another part of Cyprus. Give the final destination before requesting the flight and vehicle. If you want to stop at the salt lake, include that visit explicitly rather than treating it as part of a direct airport transfer.
Plan around your final address
For western Cyprus, compare Paphos as well. The shortest flight does not necessarily give the shortest complete journey to your destination.
Airport details and arrival guidance →TIMING YOUR TRIP
When to travel
Summer is hot and beach-focused. Spring and autumn suit wider sightseeing; winter can be interesting for the lake and a quieter city visit.
Spring
Combine the historic streets with the waterfront and a nature stop if conditions suit. The lake and the beach offer different activities, so choose the focus before arranging the day.
Summer
Plan longer exposed walks for a comfortable part of the day. A beach-led stay can still include the old quarter, but do not build a dense sightseeing schedule around the hottest hours.
Winter
The salt lakes can attract flamingos when conditions are suitable, but sightings are not guaranteed. Observe from the established paths and keep the city programme worthwhile even without the birds.
CONNECT YOUR JOURNEY
Plan the journey in both directions
Indicative jet flight between the reference airports. Transfers are additional; see the route for the airport pair and arrival options.
AIRCRAFT TO CONSIDER
Choose the space you need
Compare passenger seats, luggage and cabin space. The operator confirms the aircraft’s suitability for the airports and the particular flight.
Before your visit
Are flamingos visible throughout the year?⌄
No. Their presence is seasonal and depends on conditions at the salt lakes. A winter visit may offer the opportunity, but it should not be presented as a guaranteed part of the itinerary.
Which airport should I choose?⌄
Larnaca is a major gateway to Cyprus, close to Larnaca itself and useful for the southeastern coast. Nicosia, Limassol and the resort areas each require a different onward drive. Confirm private-flight meeting instructions before arranging the car.
How long is the airport transfer?⌄
The indicative road journey from the airport shown on this map to the city centre is 15-25 minutes. The exact terminal, address and traffic affect the journey. Select a point on the map to compare the available local destinations.
What should I send with a charter request?⌄
Send your dates, departure point, passenger count and final address. Mention large bags or sports equipment and any fixed appointment. We can then compare the flight and onward journey together.
