The model and its relatives

SR20

Cirrus introduced the SR20 in 1999 with a composite airframe and a whole-aircraft parachute system. It became the foundation of the later SR22 family.

SR22

The SR22 is a compact single-engine piston aircraft for individual travel or a very small group. Passengers sit in a shared cockpit-style cabin, rather than a separate lounge.

Model historyWhere it began and how it evolved

Cirrus entered the light-aircraft market with a modern composite design and an interior closer to a touring car than many older aircraft. The whole-aircraft parachute was built into the concept. The SR20 established this combination, providing the platform from which the more powerful SR22 developed.

Cirrus introduced the SR20 in 1999 with a composite airframe and a whole-aircraft parachute system. It became the foundation of the later SR22 family.

Engines, cockpit equipment and weight limits changed across generations. These figures use the current SR20 reference, so an earlier aircraft needs its own performance and seating check.

Before you choose

Can I stand upright in the cabin?

The cabin is lower than 180 cm, so a person of that height cannot stand fully upright. The scaled illustration shows the difference. Maximum cabin height: 1.27 m.

Will my aircraft have this exact interior?

Not necessarily. These photographs and the layout illustrate the model. We check the actual interior, seats and equipment when preparing your proposal.
