The model and its relatives

SR22

Cirrus introduced the SR22 in 2001 as a more powerful development of the SR20. Its composite airframe, side controls and whole-aircraft parachute system distinguished it from many established touring aircraft.

Model historyWhere it began and how it evolved

The SR20 introduced Cirrus’s composite-airframe and parachute concept. The SR22 built on that foundation with a more powerful engine, more fuel and a larger wing. It expanded the touring capability of the same broad idea, while later generation labels tracked further changes to the cabin, weight limits and equipment.

Successive generations changed the wing, cockpit and weight limits. The figures here describe a normally aspirated G3 reference aircraft; later G5 and subsequent versions can have five seats including the pilot. The turbocharged SR22T is a different model.

Before you choose

Can I stand upright in the cabin?

The cabin is lower than 180 cm, so a person of that height cannot stand fully upright. The scaled illustration shows the difference. Maximum cabin height: 1.27 m.

Will my aircraft have this exact interior?

Not necessarily. These photographs and the layout illustrate the model. We check the actual interior, seats and equipment when preparing your proposal.
