Citation Excel
The Excel brings more headroom to a relatively compact aircraft. Its cabin and external baggage hold make it useful for a group moving up from a narrow light jet.

Why consider this model?
How much space?

People and cabin dimensions share one scale. The cabin outline is illustrative. The layout is an example, not the seat map of the aircraft in your quote.
Room for your luggage
2.55 m³ of baggage space.
* Approximate planning range, not a baggage allowance. Suitcase size, compartment access, weight and flight load affect what fits. We confirm your luggage for the aircraft offered.
Skis, golf bags or extra luggage?
Include the number and dimensions of bulky items in your request. Long items need a separate check.
Aircraft specifications
Planning figure; passenger load, wind, reserves and airfield conditions affect the route.
Excel / XL, XLS, XLS+ and XLS Gen2
These are successive versions of the Citation 560XL family. XL is commonly used for the original Excel, not a separate generation. Citation III, VI and VII form the separate 650 family.
Citation Excel
The original 560XL, also called Excel or XL. Deliveries began in 1998.
Citation XLS
The 2004 update with revised engines and equipment, retaining the Excel cabin proportions.
Citation XLS+
The 2008 development with further engine, cockpit and interior changes.
Citation XLS GEN2
The 2022 cabin update with redesigned seats, lighting and passenger connectivity.
Model historyWhere it began and how it evolved
The Excel was intended to bridge a gap in Cessna’s range: passengers wanted more headroom than in a light jet, without moving to the company’s largest aircraft. A taller cabin was paired with a straight wing and a relatively compact airframe. This combination became the foundation of the 560XL family, including the XLS and its later versions.
First delivered in 1998, the Excel combined a larger cabin cross-section with a straight-wing design. The XLS and XLS+ later updated performance and equipment around the same cabin concept.
Before you choose
Can I stand upright in the cabin?
The cabin is lower than 180 cm, so a person of that height cannot stand fully upright. The scaled illustration shows the difference. Maximum cabin height: 1.73 m.
Will my aircraft have this exact interior?
Not necessarily. These photographs and the layout illustrate the model. We check the actual interior, seats and equipment when preparing your proposal.
