FROM LONDON TO THE LAKE AND THE ALPS
Why fly to Geneva?
Geneva suits a business visit with time by the lake, a weekend exploring watchmaking and the Old Town, or the start of a longer Alpine holiday. International organisations, private banking and trade bring visitors here for meetings; the compact centre makes a very different break from London. Choose the city for its own attractions, or plan an onward journey into Switzerland or neighbouring France.

The lakefront and Jet d’Eau
Walk along the quays, see the Jet d’Eau from the waterfront and cross the harbour by a Mouette boat. The lakefront is an easy place to start a short visit before exploring the streets behind it.

Old Town and Saint-Pierre
Climb into the Old Town for Saint-Pierre Cathedral, Place du Bourg-de-Four and the lanes around them. This is a good half-day focus when you want to see Geneva beyond its business districts.

A city shaped by watchmaking
The Patek Philippe Museum provides a closer look at Geneva’s watchmaking tradition, with historic watches, enamels and automata. Allow time for the collections rather than treating it as a quick shopping stop.

International Geneva
The Palais des Nations and the international district explain another side of the city. If a visit to the United Nations is part of your plans, check tour availability and arrange it in advance.

THE JOURNEY BEYOND THE RUNWAY
At either end of your flight
Start with your London address
For south-east London and Kent, compare Biggin Hill. For west London, Surrey or Hampshire, Farnborough may fit better. Luton and Stansted provide northern alternatives.
London City is worth considering for Canary Wharf or the City, subject to aircraft and crew approval. A London airport is not interchangeable with another simply because both serve the same city.
City meetings or onward to the Alps?
Allow roughly 20-30 minutes by car from Geneva’s business aviation terminal to the city centre. Share the actual address if you are heading to the international district, a lakeside destination or a resort.
For a journey into the Swiss or French Alps, assess the onward transfer separately. A helicopter can be considered where the landing site, weather and load allow it. Winter road conditions and bulky luggage matter as much as the flight itself.
Continuing to France? Geneva Airport has a French sector, but business aviation uses Terminal 3. Confirm your arrival formalities and the driver’s meeting point with the operator before travel; do not assume that the French-sector arrangements for airline passengers apply to your charter. Tell us if your final destination is on the French side, including Chamonix or the French shores of Lake Geneva.
Road times are planning estimates, excluding arrival formalities. Traffic, terminal and final address affect the actual journey.
CHOOSE FOR THE PEOPLE ON BOARD
Three aircraft to consider
This European sector does not automatically call for a large jet. Compare cabin space and baggage first, then confirm the aircraft’s suitability at the selected airports.

Citation Mustang
A compact cabin to consider for a small group travelling with modest luggage.

- 4
- Medium suitcases*
- 4-5

Citation XLS+
Compare this cabin when travelling with more passengers or luggage. Share the size of skis and other long items.
- Typical seats
- 8-9
- Medium suitcases*
- 6-8

Challenger 350
A wider, taller cabin for travellers who value room on board. Airport performance still needs to be checked.
- Typical seats
- 8-9
- Medium suitcases*
- 8-10
*Baggage figures are approximate, not guaranteed allowances. Configuration, item size and weight determine what fits. These models are examples, not live availability; smaller aircraft may take longer than the indicative flight range.
Compare cabin dimensions side by side ↗YOUR DATES. YOUR AIRCRAFT.
How much does London – Geneva cost?
The price is calculated for the whole aircraft and your specific itinerary. Aircraft positioning, the selected airports, dates, passenger load and return arrangements can change the total.
A same-day return and two one-way flights on different dates can be priced differently. Ask for both options when your schedule permits, rather than assuming that a return costs twice the outbound flight.
PLAN AROUND THE REASON YOU ARE GOING
One route, different journeys
A day of meetings
London and Geneva are one hour apart by the local clock. Keep appointments and flight confirmations in local time, and allow for both ground transfers. An evening meeting running late can affect the return airport and crew arrangements.
For meetings in both cities, work from the first fixed appointment and the latest possible finish. The flexibility of a private charter still depends on aircraft availability and the operating conditions of the day.
A winter departure for the mountains
For an Alpine trip, Geneva is the arrival point, not necessarily the final destination. Provide the resort and complete luggage list, including skis, boots and pushchairs. Cabin seating alone does not tell you whether everything will fit.
Compare road and helicopter transfers with the same passenger and baggage requirements. Keep a road alternative for a weather-sensitive connection, and agree the meeting point before travel.
BEFORE YOU BOOK
Questions about London – Geneva
How long does a private jet take from London to Geneva?⌄
Allow around 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes as a jet flight planning range. The aircraft, airport pair, wind and routing determine the actual time. Ground transfers and arrival formalities are additional.
Can I fly this route without a fuel stop?⌄
A nonstop flight is normally feasible for the business jets shown here. The operator confirms the particular aircraft against its load, conditions and the selected airports.
Does changing the London airport change the price?⌄
It can. Positioning, airport charges and aircraft availability can change the quotation, while the road journey may change too. Compare the complete trip, not only the flight price.
Can I take skis on the flight?⌄
Yes, if the selected aircraft can accommodate their length, weight and your other luggage. Send dimensions and quantities before confirming the aircraft.
Can I book Geneva to London instead?⌄
Yes. Use the direction selector above. The request will use Geneva as the departure and your selected London airport as the arrival.
Is an empty leg suitable for this route?⌄
It may be, if the available aircraft, date and direction match your plans. Empty legs depend on another flight’s positioning requirements and can change. A fixed appointment may call for a regular charter instead.
