It adds a strong Javanese cultural focus, including local traditions and food. It is a different kind of stay from Jakarta or Bali, so give it its own time rather than using it only as a connection between other destinations.
How should I choose an arrival airport for Indonesia?
Start with your final address, rather than the country name alone. Jakarta is one of the places shown here, but a suitable arrival airport depends on the route, aircraft, operating conditions and onward transfer. Indonesia is an archipelago, so the destination island matters more than the country name alone. Bali, Java and the islands around Labuan Bajo require different arrival and transfer plans.
