Bordeaux-Mérignac Airport

AIRPORT OVERVIEW
Bordeaux-Mérignac lies west of Bordeaux. It serves city visits, the wine-growing areas and onward travel towards the Atlantic coast. For a château visit, the name of the appellation is not enough: the precise estate address determines the transfer.
Is this the right airport for your trip?
A flight serving central Bordeaux and one serving Saint-Émilion or the Médoc may require very different road plans.
Runway length is a useful reference, not a guarantee that every aircraft can operate here. The operator checks performance, load and the conditions for the actual flight.
LOCATION & PURPOSE
Where this airport works well
Bordeaux-Mérignac is useful for both the city and the wider wine-growing region. Its position west of Bordeaux gives different onward routes towards the city, the Atlantic coast and estates inland. A visit to central Bordeaux and a day in Saint-Émilion or the Médoc should not share a generic transfer allowance. The estate or business address is the most useful starting point for planning.
PRIVATE FLIGHT ARRIVAL
Terminal and meeting point
Private and airline operations share the airport. The familiar passenger-terminal names do not by themselves identify where a charter passenger should meet a driver. The handling address should be confirmed for the flight and passed to everyone travelling separately. If the group is bringing presentation equipment or returning with additional luggage, include that when comparing aircraft rather than relying on seat count alone.

AIRPORT & ONWARD TRAVEL
Bordeaux
Indicative road journeys. The terminal, final address and traffic affect the time. Dotted ends link the road to the marked place; this overview is not a navigation map.
AFTER LANDING
Plan the rest of your journey
For several vineyard appointments, consider the order of visits and the return to the airport before fixing departure times. The route can involve quite different directions from Bordeaux, even when all the addresses are described as being in the same wine region. For a stay continuing to the coast, an airport-to-city estimate is not enough. A complete itinerary makes it easier to compare flying into Bordeaux and returning from the same airport with a journey that finishes elsewhere.
Before you arrive
Where should my driver meet me?⌄
Use the handling address and meeting instructions in your flight confirmation. A private flight may be served away from the main airline terminal.
What about passport and customs formalities?⌄
The arrangements depend on the flight’s origin, destination and passenger documents. Confirm these with the operating carrier before departure.
Can I return through a different airport?⌄
Yes, subject to the itinerary and operating arrangements. Share both addresses and dates so the complete trip can be compared.
