Model historyWhere it began and how it evolved
Honda began aircraft research long before the HondaJet reached customers. Its experimental aircraft first flew in 2003, and deliveries of the production model began in December 2015.
The engines sit above the wings rather than on the rear fuselage. This arrangement helped free space inside a compact aircraft. The passenger cabin has four facing seats, with an optional fifth seat beside the entrance.
The Elite followed in 2018 with greater range and other improvements. Later Elite S and Elite II models continued that development. The figures here describe the original HondaJet, not those later versions.

Can I stand upright in the cabin?
The cabin is lower than 180 cm, so a person of that height cannot stand fully upright. The scaled illustration shows the difference. Maximum cabin height: 1.47 m.
