YOUR VISIT AT A GLANCE

Milan draws visitors for finance, design, fashion and trade fairs, as well as its museums and historic centre. Linate is a close business aviation option; Malpensa may suit other aircraft or onward destinations. A meeting in the city, an exhibition at Rho and a transfer to Lake Como are different journeys.

BEYOND THE ARRIVAL

Art, design and a working Italian city

Milan brings together a recognisable historic centre and a strong working identity. The Duomo and Galleria give a first visit its central anchor, while Brera introduces galleries, smaller streets and the city’s art and design character. The visit becomes more interesting when there is time for a neighbourhood as well as the main square.

The Navigli area offers a different evening setting along the canals. For a business visit, however, the important distinction may be between central Milan and the exhibition area at Rho. Put the actual venue on the itinerary before choosing airport and transfer times; a meeting described simply as “Milan” may be far from the sightseeing centre.

Places worth exploring

Milan Cathedral

Milan Cathedral

The cathedral and its square anchor the historic centre. A planned visit can be combined with the nearby galleries and a walk towards the city’s cultural districts.

Brera

Brera

Brera brings together galleries, streets and a quieter urban scale. It is a natural contrast to the commercial pace around the main shopping streets.

LIN / LIML

Milan Linate Airport

Linate is close to central Milan and has dedicated business aviation facilities at Milano Linate Prime. It is well placed for city meetings, fashion and design visits. Malpensa is another option when the aircraft or onward itinerary makes it preferable.

Indicative road journeys. The terminal, final address and traffic affect the time. Dotted ends link the road to the marked place; this overview is not a navigation map.

Your onward journey

Linate is the arrival option used in this guide. Compare the final address and the flight requirements before making the airport choice. A transfer to Rho, a central appointment and an onward journey towards the lakes should each be calculated separately.

Plan around your final address

For Lake Como or a destination northwest of Milan, compare the actual road journey from both airports. A city-centre advantage does not apply to every address.

TIMING YOUR TRIP

When to travel

Design and fashion events create sharp peaks in demand. Summer can be hot, while spring and autumn are useful for combining meetings and walks.

Design & fashion visits

Choose the specific showrooms, fairgrounds or event addresses first. During busy event periods, a compact sequence of appointments is more useful than repeatedly crossing the metropolitan area.

Spring & autumn

Combine the historic centre with Brera or another neighbourhood. If a particular exhibition is central to the trip, secure its date and entry before filling the rest of the day.

Summer & winter breaks

Museums and indoor cultural stops can balance outdoor sightseeing. Check individual opening dates, especially when planning around holiday periods or a short weekend visit.

Before your visit

Is the Rho exhibition area in the historic centre?⌄

No. Treat it as a separate destination when arranging the transfer. Share the entrance or hall address supplied by the event organiser, not just the name of the exhibition.

Which airport should I choose?⌄

Linate is close to central Milan and has dedicated business aviation facilities at Milano Linate Prime. It is well placed for city meetings, fashion and design visits. Malpensa is another option when the aircraft or onward itinerary makes it preferable.

How long is the airport transfer?⌄

The indicative road journey from the airport shown on this map to the city centre is 20-40 minutes. The exact terminal, address and traffic affect the journey. Select a point on the map to compare the available local destinations.

What should I send with a charter request?⌄

Send your dates, departure point, passenger count and final address. Mention large bags or sports equipment and any fixed appointment. We can then compare the flight and onward journey together.
