DA42
The DA42 is a four-seat piston twin for a small party. The large canopy gives a clear view, while the rear bench provides two passenger seats behind the pilot.

Why consider this model?
How much space?

People and cabin dimensions share one scale. The cabin outline is illustrative. The layout is an example, not the seat map of the aircraft in your quote.
Room for your luggage
Baggage capacity is checked for the selected seating and fuel configuration.
* For small soft bags, not rigid medium suitcases. Space depends on seating and passenger weight; confirm bag dimensions before booking.
Skis, golf bags or extra luggage?
Include the number and dimensions of bulky items in your request. Long items need a separate check.
Aircraft specifications
Manufacturer maximum with auxiliary fuel at an economical power setting, without fuel reserves. The practical route is shorter once reserves and payload are included.
The model and its relatives
DA42
The original Twin Star appeared in 2004 with diesel engines running on jet fuel and a glass cockpit. Later NG aircraft changed to Austro engines, and the VI refined the aerodynamics.
Model historyWhere it began and how it evolved
Diamond’s light-aircraft background centred on composite construction. The DA42 combined that approach with two diesel engines using jet fuel, offering a different formula from older petrol-powered twins. The move to Austro engines in later versions became a significant chapter in the model’s development, followed by aerodynamic refinements in the VI.

These performance figures use the DA42-VI as the reference. Earlier engines and versions have different limits. Four seats include the pilot, and luggage load must leave enough capacity for passengers and fuel.
Before you choose
Can I stand upright in the cabin?
The cabin is lower than 180 cm, so a person of that height cannot stand fully upright. The scaled illustration shows the difference. Maximum cabin height: 1.19 m.
Will my aircraft have this exact interior?
Not necessarily. These photographs and the layout illustrate the model. We check the actual interior, seats and equipment when preparing your proposal.
